The Kindness of Heaven

Posted by Kenzie Kirk on

With a tear-streaked face, she sat at her kitchen table and wept. In this moment, she thought motherhood was nothing like she dreamed it would be. It was demanding and strenuous, and currently, she felt the lies of the enemy piercing through her sleep-deprived heart.

You are a terrible mother.

You will never be good enough.

The weight of these accusations were so prevalent that she knew what to do.

Jesus, be near. I need you. Show me your loving kindness.

The beautiful thing about Jesus is that when we call for Him, He is there.

When our circumstances seem too much to bear, He brings peace.

And when the enemy of our soul comes to tell us lies, Jesus brings truth and a kindness that surpasses all things.

Jesus says I’m able.

With Him, I can do this.

Through the love of a Father we are reminded that we were uniquely created for such a time as this as mothers… to receive the kindness of Jesus and then turn to nurture kindness in the hearts of our little ones.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
Colossians 3:12

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalms 139:14

Chosen one - mothers; we have been equipped and wonderfully made to bring His loving-kindness to our marriages, children, and those we do life with.

Oh how our display of kindness might sit upstream of the changing of a heart.

Be encouraged. May you walk in the uniqueness you carry so beautifully to every place you inhabit and change atmospheres as you cultivate the kindness of Jesus. May you remember that you were created to nurture kindness within the heart of your little one.

Because they, too, are one-of-a-kind in the Kingdom of heaven.
